Colleagues working for Care UK were delighted to hear that Care Home Professional magazine has selected its Residential Care Services managing director, Andrew Knight, as one of an elite group of the top 44 leaders working in social care across the UK.
In the words of the editor of the magazine, these are people who make a positive difference to everybody around them with their attitude, commitment, positivity and expertise every day.
Other leaders listed alongside Andrew range from inspirational managers of individual homes to a care home head chef, the chief inspector at the Care Quality Commission to CEOs of large care home providers.
Also listed in the group of 44 leaders is Phil Andrews, a director at Castleoak, which has helped Care UK to build a number of its new homes including the 10 in Suffolk.
As well as his photo on the front cover, there’s also a half page article summarising some of Andrew and his team’s achievements. The magazine makes particular reference to the project to build 10 new care homes in Suffolk.
Andrew Knight joined Care UK in February 2014. Before that he worked for Weightwatchers UK and a number of organisations in the hospitality sector.
His great passion is customer service and, since joining the organisation, he’s led a crusade to make sure that Care UK recruits and develops people with not just the right technical skills, but equally importantly, a deeply caring and compassionate attitude. Over the next two years, Andrew will lead the team opening another 14 new care homes on sites stretching from Dorset to Edinburgh.
