The Burroughs

Welcome to The Burroughs

Our caring and dedicated team provides tailored care for older people, from short term respite breaks to long term residential care. We also provide specialist care for people living with dementia.

Keeping busy and engaged is the secret to maintaining independence in older age, so we encourage your loved one to do whatever brings them meaning and happiness. They can help around the home with gardening, dusting or folding laundry, or get involved in the different activities that we organise each day.

The Burroughs also has some lovely facilities that your loved one can use whenever they wish. We have our own Regency cinema, as well as a café and a total of three conservatories plus different lounges to relax in.

Meet the team

The dedicated and experienced team at The Burroughs will provide your loved one with care that is completely tailored to their individual needs and wishes.

I enjoy all aspects of my job, there’s always something new to learn each day and always a challenge to tackle, but I see them as opportunities to develop. Best of all, I relish making residents happy and comfortable as well as supporting the team to do their best work. Team work is vital in a setting like this.

What others have to say

Here are just some of the comments we’ve received from family, friends and residents at The Burroughs care home.

Staff make sure she gets up exercises and gets on her walker. Sometimes we see her in a wheelchair and they make sure she mixes with others.

Relative of a resident, April 2021

She has started to take pride in her appearance again, she gets her hair done in the morning; she gets her hair cut as they have their own salon in the home and a podiatrist also comes in.

Mr W H, Relative of a resident, November 2019

They involve him with everything, they really are good to him.

Relative of a resident, November 2019

The staff ask all the residents questions, they have a good staff base and staff have been there a long time. There is no high turnover and they do a lovely job.

Relative of a resident, November 2019

When I visit they have made me feel welcome and they tell me what’s going on and they all know his name. They deal with all residents with compassion and humour; I feel that’s how they deal with my father as well.
